Exciting to witness the resilience and remarkable strides of the #Youth #IDEAthon cohort since we delivered the program right at the peak of the pandemic. Proud of the work my team and I at NASE Africa did to identify and support them, particularly during the bootcamp where many of their ideas really took shape. It's gratifying to see the lasting impact of our efforts as they continue to thrive, with some going on to win multiple national and regional competitions, others securing VC funding, and a few already exporting to as far as Europe. Thanks Winifred Nakandi for your kind words, for passing by with your business colleague, and for inspiring the Girl Child through your products. Continue pushing forward with your mission! On a sad note, one of the facilitators during the above mentioned bootcamp, John Birungi Babirukamu, MCIM, tragically passed on yesterday. John was passionate about #Digital #Marketing. He wowed the participants during the bootcamp with his digital wizardry. The efforts of his session were apparent during the pitch sessions where marketing was one of the best presented aspects of the pitches. His impact is also evident in the programmes digital content that was meant for the IDEAthon TV show (we hope this will still be aired some day, especially as some of these start-ups are already on their way to million dollar valuations). As a result of this, the #Youth #IDEAthon cohort has agreed to continue checking on each other, through regular events, with one slated for July this year. Entrepreneurship can be a stressful and lonely journey. It's not often that most entrepreneurship programs consider the stresses of Entrepreneurship and it's effects on the mental health, especially for youthful participants - which, in Uganda's case, are the majority. Often the focus is on the #grant, and #accountability. Full Stop. There's need to adopt a holistic approach, that also recognises that failure is an inevitable part of this journey. #Empathy #RIPJohn #Entrepreneurship #Ecosystems

🌟How To Ensure Success as a CSO or a NGO🌟As civil society organisations (CSOs) and NGOs, our mission is to create meaningful impact through our development programs. But how do we ensure success? E.F. Schumacher's words ring true: “The greatest danger invariably arises from the ruthless application, on a vast scale, of partial knowledge.”To truly make a difference, we must invest in thorough research and understanding. It's not enough to rely on assumptions or incomplete data.Instead, let's embrace a culture of inquiry, where evidence-based approaches guide our actions. With quality research, we can: - Identify the root causes of issues- Tailor interventions to specific contexts- Measure outcomes effectivelyThis diligent approach not only enhances the effectiveness of our programs but also ensures accountability to our stakeholders. At the Schumacher Society, we champion Action Research. This means that our research is eclectic, purpose-driven, and focuses on generating tangible outcomes that directly benefit communities. Our approach has led us to attaining success in taking on quality research initiatives on issues like gender violence, pluralism, peace-building etc.🌍 Reach out today to work with us, collaborate or discuss research projects/initiatives.Contact us at:Phone: +91 98108 83674 & +91 99581 26130Mail: schumacher.societydelhi02@gmail.com🌍 Our team is dedicated to supporting CSOs and NGOs in conducting rigorous research and developing sustainable solutions for societal challenges.#ResearchForImpact #NGO #CSO #DevelopmentPrograms #SchumacherSociety 🌍✨

Horizontal inequalities (HIs) are political, economic, social, and cultural inequalities between major groups in a particular country. A wealth of evidence in the last 15 years has shown that severe HIs significantly increase the risk of political instability and conflict. Yet, they are rarely systematically targeted. Successfully addressing HIs in transition countries is an inherently political process, since it involves a balance between addressing the HIs of disadvantaged groups while minimising the chance of backlash from advantaged groups and/or the hardening of group identities.Discover more in IFIT’s publication “Horizontal Inequalities in Transition Countries: Guidelines for Better Practice”.🔗 https://lnkd.in/dTG8JKV4 #IFIT #Inequality #HorizontalInequalities
